With the Atlantic Ocean at its west and the Derryveagh mountains to the east, in 1,500 years, Gweedore has seen pirates, pagans, patriots and even a priest charged with murder. My book charts the most important historical events and folklore that have shaped not only Gweedore, but which have had ramifications across the world. The parish has seen events that have been pivotal to Irish history but also to the story of America, the United Kingdom and Australia.
