This report looks at the negative and positive drivers affecting forest change in the Greater Mekong Subregion during the period 1990-2015. Agricultural expansion, infrastructure development, logging, mining operations and forest fires are identified as the most dominant drivers of forest loss in the region. On a positive note, almost all countries in the region have adopted policies that support sustainable forest management and balance the social, economic and environmental aspects of forestry.
