Psalm 110 - a so-called royal psalm - experienced shifts in meaning in its interpretation. This is especially clear in verse 3, which in the Hebrew text before us speaks of the dew of your youth, whereas the Septuagint speaks of the birth of a king "from the womb before the morning star". The dissertation attempts both to question the present Hebrew text about its theological intentions and to trace its history of reception and interpretation. The aim is to show lines of development when the psalm got which statement. The history of the impact should not be neglected because it offers a multifaceted juxtaposition of different interpretations.
