Drawing on the Moroccan mediation in the conflict in Mali, the author demonstrates a best practice example for the successful transformation of conflict in North Africa. She examines the factors that contribute to successful mediation and develops guidelines for action that aim to inspire current academic discourse and political practice in the face of the urgent need for sustainable solutions to ethno-political conflicts.
