About the Author

Avala's love for the arts was inspired at an early age by her father, R. L. Jones Jr. a professional artist. Her multi-talented mother, A. E. Jones, a singer, writer, former model and clerk for the city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, reared Avala to utilize all her talents. Avala's first job as a library page at the Portsmouth Public Library, is where she developed an interest in books.

Her childhood rearing motivated her to create poetry, write & illustrate juvenile picture books, produce and sing inspirational & gospel music. Still intrigued by her father's artistic talent, she host exhibitions, displaying her father's collections of oil paintings, charcoals and pastels, while pursuing her interests.
