Ted Baker, the son of a rich Connecticut family, is reported dead in Chile. His parent's grief is overwhelming, and they don't believe the official rendition of his death. They are left with no body to bury and doubts about the truth. Frustrated, they engage Dan Ryan, a New York private detective with a reputation for finding people and things, to bring them their son's body.
