I wrote this illustrated book to expose the biggest drug conspiracy in U.S. History. The case was entirely orchestrated by federal agents. John Z. DeLorean, a titan in the automotive industry, was found innocent by the jury. Federal agents lied and even threatened his children to build their case. The DeLorean Drug Trial ruled the headlines of newspapers worldwide. The case commanded the attention of the highest levels of the FBI, DEA, CIA, IRS, DOJ, Attorney General's Office, Interpol, Number 10 Downing Street, and the White House.
I have the FBI investigative reports and transcripts of their secret tapes which the judge ordered to be turned over to my attorney. I also have the investigative reports from the law firm that John DeLorean hired to investigate the federal agents and their snitch. John gave me everything he had when we merged our defenses. I know the things that the jury never heard.. As the last surviving defendant, I reveal the criminal secrets never discovered by the FBI and DEA.
For the first time, I have included some of these secret files in this revision to prove their authenticity and to reveal the evidence that I reference from them.
Few knew that the case involved Pablo Escobar, who wanted to buy a $100,000,000 stake in DMC. Nor that Escobar's #1 money man, Max Mermelstein, would be taken down because of the DeLorean Case and that it would lead to the total destruction of the Medellin Cartel.
The defendants were John Z. DeLorean, creator of the DeLorean Motor Car, Morgan Hetrick a Texas Maverick who claimed to be the #1 cocaine smuggler on the West Coast, and myself, a Vietnam vet, navy bomb disposal frogman, pilot and author of this book.
I pled guilty and only testified against myself. In prison, I made a commitment of faith that opened a path to incredible adventures and to a "Hope that never Surrenders."
As an inmate at Boron Federal Prison Camp, I became chief engineer of the inmate fire crew. I left the prison 17 times driving a fire truck, red lights flashing and siren wailing, to save lives including two crew members of a B-1A supersonic bomber that went down in the Mojave Desert six miles from the prison camp.
Warning: this is a true story written in the intensity of the moment. It contains real depictions of the criminal underworld and of life inside prison walls. This story may be disconcerting to some, yet is necessary to convey the magnitude of where choices can lead those who would dance the criminal waltz. As a motivational speaker and writer I tired to share this work in a way that would be acceptable for teens.
Prepare to take a wild journey into darkness, and then to discover the wonderful gift of a spiritual commitment in the darkness of prison. Just 31 months later, I will come out a changed man and watch in amazement as my childhood dream morphs into this ex-inmate's reality as a chief diver and expedition leader for Captain Jacques Yves Cousteau a...
