It Takes a Village to Raise the Dead

Neuroscientist Rey Nickel swore she'd never revive a corpse again. It's bad enough when her ground-breaking experiments are sabotaged, but when her life is threatened, Rey flees to the remote Oregon rainforest, where she finds refuge in an enclave of survivalists and fugitives. She grows to love the eccentric dwellers of this off-grid settlement, until after a night of explosive violence she has to break her vow in an effort to bring the victims back to life. Rey has to wonder if she has saved her loved ones or condemned them when the revived develop weird powers ... along with a taste for human flesh. Just when she realizes she can't handle this situation alone, she finds an ally in an intriguing former special ops agent. There's no time to wonder if she can trust him, as attacks increase and time runs out. Can the duo save the living villagers from their reanimated relatives? And can they succeed before Rey's past catches up with her in the form of an even more dangerous menace?
