This picture book is based on a true experience evacuating our home during Hurricane Ike. The actions and the words given to Jasper and Newfie are based solely on my interpretation. The colorful picture book, "Jasper and the Hurricane" is a story about friends helping friends through playful and sometimes stormy actions, Newfie takes on the job of helping Jasper get through his first hurricane and his fears of leaving the only safe place he knows, of losing all his possessions and looking toward the future.
