Every passing century, Annie Tarian curses herself for being a fool and not fighting harder when the prophecy is forced upon her. The King of Darkness possesses her body to set her coven aflame to destroy the realm. Now, she is no longer the night-witch monarch who will change history's perception of her kind. Instead, she is hunted ever since.

Five hundred years later, another deadly witch is born. Princess Anastasia Cevilie of Fortiem is imprisoned in her mortal father's castle to protect her from the light witches wishing for her death. Anastasia knows this is temporary, and her father can't protect her forever. The only way for her to protect herself is by completing the prophecy.

When Annie nearly dies during an attack on her life, a mysterious girl saves her with a kiss. She claims to assure Annie protection. In return, she must stop Anastasia before she descends the realms into ash. Annie agrees out of her desire to destroy the King of Darkness and pities Anastasia for trusting evil. However, Anastasia pities Annie for being a coward because she knows he has only acted that way to rescue Annie away from the coven plotting her demise. Deep down, the two witches wonder if they can stop the impending war by understanding each other's perspective. If not, the two queens shall either destroy the world or each other.
