Whilst recuperating from his injuries Detective CHANDLER TRAVIS works as an archivist at the New Scotland Yard Black Museum. When he gets a phone call from Louisiana Sheriff DUKE LANOIX, it seems his obsession with the identity of Jack The Ripper and his connection with it will finally be resolved.
Arriving in Louisiana he learns that Duke has unearthed five female corpses buried in a swamp for over a century. Their identities would appear to rewrite a hundred years of history surrounding the mysterious serial killer of 1888, JACK THE RIPPER and reveal a conspiracy stretching back more than a century. With the assistance of ROXIE, a beautiful computer analyst and environmental activist, along with brilliant coroner JONAS, the team begin to dig deeper.
When they come into conflict with Governor and Senator wannabe ROMAN BLACKBURN, it soon becomes clear that their investigation is unwelcome. When Duke's life is threatened and one of their witnesses is murdered they realise that Blackburn's controversial wetlands regeneration program hides a darker purpose.
When Roxie and her friends discover what Blackburn is really doing in the swamps, she is soon running for her life, only to end up trapped in the living nightmare that is Blackburn's murderous history. In a race against time and the unstable forces of nature itself, Chandler and Duke must overcome their deepest fears to save Roxie and destroy Blackburn's dynasty of corruption.
