Mally the Maker and the Queen in the Quilt

Ten year old Mally Spencer can’t stop crying. Six months ago her grandma, her favorite person in the world, disappeared without a trace. Everything has gone from bad to worse and now Mally’s family is falling apart.

But then a chance discovery in Grandma’s sewing room catapults Mally into the magical world of Quilst, where everything is made of fabric and stuffed animals can come to life. Is this where Grandma has been the whole time?

Mally sets off to search, but is quickly caught by the powerful Queen of Quilst. In order to free herself, Mally must overcome her worst fears and learn how to stitch herself free. She’ll have to become more than just a kid playing make-believe.

Mally the Maker is the first installment of a delightful quilting fantasy series created by Leah Day for quilters of all ages. Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, Leah mastered sewing, crochet, and knitting as a young girl and hopes to inspire a new generation of kids to pick up needles, thread, fabric and yarn and learn how to make beautiful things.
