Forced to leave a prosperous and comfortable life in Mexico behind them for fear of retribution from Pancho Villa's bandit's prior to The Revolution, the Flores family leaves their beloved land and flee to Texas. After a fatal freak accident, the youngest member of the Flores family is born - three months premature. Told the baby would not survive, the family travels back to Mexico to bury two of its members, but survive he does.

This is the story of a family's slow spiral into the depths of poverty, and the struggle of one child to change it.
