Although the scriptures say, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" - Matthew 7:7. Most of us - Christians, ask from God and never receive anything. The reason is that most of us lack faith and ask amiss - for our pleasures instead of our immediate needs - James 4:3; James !:6.
