In this book, first published in 1984, Paul Cohen examines the Catholic revival among the young French intelligentsia prior to the First World War. He explores this intellectual revival by studying that periods "talas", the Catholic students at the elite Ecole Normale Suprieure, and devotes his attention to some of the highest-profile coverts, such as Charles Pguy and Jacques Maritain.
