Raqs Media Collective

What is time? What does it mean to measure time? And how is time related to space and history? The examination of time, language, and history is central to the artistic work of the Raqs Media Collective, which was established in New Delhi in 1992. Through making use of various media, the three members, Jeebesh Bagchi (*1966), Monica Narula (*1969), and Shuddhabrata Sengupta (*1968) combine contemporary art with historical and philosophical speculation, historical research, and theory, whereby they consider social and political conditions within a global context. The publication accompanying the exhibition at K21 in Dsseldorf provides differentiated insights into the first extensive solo-presentation in Germany. Text in English and German.
