He watched her walking toward the house they had once lived in together. He had asked her to meet him. Here, in the park, across from the house. Anxious, he had arrived early. He wouldn't have recognized her. This wasn't the woman he had left ten months ago.
He would have walked right by this woman on the street. Well, no. No red blooded American male would have walked right by her. They would take one look and go brain dead, mouth hanging open. This woman walking toward him was a stunning, sensual woman. Like a living wet dream. No, this wasn't his wife.
He was glad he had come early. He really needed these extra few minutes to adjust to this new, sensual Cilla walking toward him.
If he hadn't seen the photos published in the online gossip blog, he wouldn't connect this beauty to Cilla. Not that he had been looking at the blog; it was Ron who found it. Ron was updating their file on Conrad on a daily basis and he had found the pictures. "Hey, is that your wife there with Conrad? That's her name with the photo, but it sure doesn't look like your Cilla. Wow, will you look at this," he said reading the caption. "Priscilla Jayden, socializing with Peter Conrad."
"You should see this photo, Jake. That's the woman you left last year. She's in the most read gossip blog in the country. Look at her now. She looks more like Sheri than Cilla. She's pictured here with Conrad a couple of times. And John's in this blog too."
Jake read the blurb, 'Peter Conrad with computer programmers Priscilla Jayden and John Browne.' He just shook his head. Looked at the picture again. "That's Cilla alright. Though she sure looks different. And that's John. They're with Conrad. Cilla is arm in arm with Conrad." He said outraged and surprised by the stab of jealousy. He looked at all the pictures and read the story again. This wasn't a news story, just a comment "Is this business or pleasure? Or maybe a little of both."
He frowned and then he stood up "That's our in. She can get us close to Conrad."
And so it begins. For Cilla, none of this is going to make any sense. Not after Jake left with another woman ten months ago. Peter is, after all, her business partner, so when Jake comes back accusing her of having Peter as her lover and telling her that Peter is a spy, the only way to prove Jake wrong is to play along. Besides, there's that part of her that really wishes Jake would come back...and maybe this will help make it happen.
Cilla quickly enlists the other members of the "Gang of Five," her four geek friends who also escaped the hell of abused childhoods to achieve success in their chosen fields. They use their computer geek expertise to quickly prove Peter's innocence and track down the culprits, setting a trap for the real buyers of Jake's secrets. What they aren't expecting, however, is to be entangled in a web of intrigue that is far more complex-and dangerous-than they ever imagined. Caught in a dangerous world of white slavery, money laundering, and reven...
