Role of Hijamah (Cupping) in Osteoarthritis

Hijamah (Cupping)is one of the methods of Ilaj-bit-Tadbeer (regimenal therapy) in unani system of medicine.Cupping is an ancient UNANI method of causing local congestion. The concept ,history and uses of hijamah (Cupping) with special reference to concept of Hijamah (cupping) in Prophetic medicine are given in detail and a study to asses effectiveness of Hijamah (Cupping) in Osteoarthritis has been presented.Hijamah (cupping) can be beneficial in management of many diseases.
