'Scare' View is the first, in a "Series" of books, primarily for Young Adults. It contains a rich cast of truly unforgettable characters, dramatic events, and unexpected revelations. The story is set in a small, yet typical, Mid-Western town, in the 1970's. Yes, that is a very long time ago; and young readers will encounter many references to books, movies, TV shows, sports figures, and celebrities... from that Era, which will mostly leave them "clue-less." Fortunately, there is a simple solution: "GOOGLE" anything that is unfamiliar, puzzling, or slightly curious. Doing so, will certainly increase your understanding of, and appreciation for, what this unique story is actually about.'Scare' View could have been called: "Appearances Can Be Deceiving;" or "Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover." Perceptive readers will realize, early on, that it encourages, if not compels, them to make their own decisions about other people; and not to simply judge them because they are different. After all, we are complex individuals. We are not robots, interchangeable "cogs" in some gigantic machine, or countless "cut-outs:" churned out by an ever-present, yet invisible, "Assembly Line."
