Songs…in the Night: Holding on in the Darkness of Life by D. B. (Dee) Shelnutt, Jr. is an inspirational book which encourages readers of the love, provision, and healing of God in life’s darkest times. Combining hymns, Bible passages, and reflective quotes, the author uses experiences from his life and community to show how God envelops us in songs for different seasons of life, such as the songs of laughter, forgiveness, and light. Readers will walk away after finishing the book with a greater sense of peace and with the ability to examine their own physical and spiritual lives and seek to see God’s songs abound. 

D. B. (Dee) Shelnutt, Jr. is enjoying retirement from forty years as a

pastor in the United Methodist Church. Over those years he was pastor to six

churches.  He met his wife

when he was seven years old (but waited to marry until in his twenties)! They

have three grown children and five grandchildren.  His lifelong passion has been in

the field of Biblical hospitality.   He

loves anything associated with lakeside living, reading, traveling, humor,

cheeseburgers, good barbeque, and being with family and friends.
