I did not want to write this book. But I just could not keep silent. Though I was working on a volume of poems I consider both spiritual and healing, I kept hearing tragic news, oppressive policies and violation of American dignity coming from the campaign trail of 2016, and later, from the White House. Like the prophets of old, poets in their own right, I had to speak. On November 8, 2017 we awoke to the horrendous sound of: Barbarians At The Gates.
