Four short ghost stories. 1. The Haunting of Memory. This story is set in Liverpool. Tamara decides to open a recently discovered metal box that belonged to her great aunt Claudia. But the box proves difficult to open. It seems the box doesn't want to reveal its contents and a family secret. 2. A Curse Once Cast. Doctor Antrobus has returned to the UK after spending twenty years in an academic post in Australia. But his past catches up with him when he meets Samantha who confronts him over the question of a curse. 3. The Street of Cloaks. Nick Bryant a multimillionaire property developer starts to build a monstrosity of a modern house on top of Roman remains. Some of the local people, including his own daughter, have strange visions of an ancient sacrificial ceremony. 4. Alkimos. The author tells the story of his own experiences of being stalked by a ghost from the shipwreck of The Alkimos on a visit to his daughter in Australia.
