The Practice of Bank Liquidation in Nigeria

This book seeks to enlighten the general public and other stakeholders about the activities of Regulators (CBN/NDIC) in ensuring that financial institutions operate in a safe and sound manner; through effective regulation and supervision. In addition, that the regulators provide technical and financial support to banks that are distressed and that bank liquidation is the last option on the cards of regulators in resolving bank failure. Leveraging on his years of experience in NDIC, the author, highlights the framework for bank liquidation in Nigeria in terms of the stakeholders as well as the relevant provisions of enabling laws. The book also enumerates the reasons for bank failures in Nigeria along with distress and failure resolution options available to failing and failed banks.
