He didn't return to San Francisco. Instead, he headed north to New York City. It's 1872 and things are not going well in The Big Apple. There are gangs of thugs and competing camps of rival politicians who are battling each other for power and influence. There are even some hired killers around. Sound familiar? Think he'll fit in? The author is a retired New York State Parole Officer who's known his share of pimps, prostitutes and killers and who has enjoyed them all.
