This first book of the series history of Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits titled VITASTA KI VATHA brings the highlights of the history of Kashmir which is already well documented by great scholars of motherland. The main propose of the book is to show the impact the women power in political, literature art and every field in Kashmir. In other parts of ancient India is that woman was deprived from all the types of freedoms. The society was harsh towards the birth of a female child. The rigidness of society clearly reflects where a daughter was considered as source of sufferings and a son savior of the family. In these odds were woman was considered as secondary citizen was not easy   for them to   be accepted as rulers. To accept women as ruler or advisor to king was a unique and amazing thing that had shaken the foundations of traditional societies, the notion of gender and   the   womanhood   altogether.  Woman’s   involvement   in the affairs of the   state was almost continuous from the beginning. The most revealing feature of the family life of Kashmir, as seen in these texts is the position of women was no where considered   inferior in Kashmir. The picture of society as depicted by Kalhana in his chronicle shows that by his time, woman had emerged from the domestic arena on the political stage. Even during harsh medieval period Kashmir has produced great poetess Lal Ded, Habba Khatoon, Mata Rupa Bhawani and Arnimal  .
