Not Your America?

About the book “NOT YOUR AMERICA.” Doris and her son Ron were almost losing faith in the society which they had embraced from some nine thousand miles across the Atlantic. “Not your America?”, when not expressly stated, was manifested at various turns, at work and in school. The jeopardy was compounded by the fact that the bias was championed by people who were least expected to toe that odious line of racial discrimination. But almost out of the blues, stepped in Shelia and Seene. And, by perseverance and cooperation from the duo and a few of the good but silent majority the bigotry of the few but vociferous odious minority, was vigorously overcome. And as inclusiveness prevailed and the light overcame the darkness the virtues of the shinning city on a hill were made manifest. And father, mother and son triumphed to tell the story that uplifted the many millions that groaned under similar conditions to make America the better for all her citizens and for the world. And so, America, truly, and in every aspect God’s own country, is loved by, and is loving to all that within her shores call home. With perseverance and unrelenting kindness and the best of humanity showered on them by the face of true and affable America, father, mother and their son were able to achieve fulfilment and a welcoming smile. And with gratitude and pride in their new country they began vigorously to contribute their quota in fields of medicine, dentistry and literary arts in service of America and humanity. “Therefore, Ron, stand tall and proud. This, perhaps is the only truly great nation where your hard work and perseverance will ultimately be vindicated and in the goodness of time, the Swansons, the Glens and all who find difficulty in comprehending the benefits of a welcoming society will find themselves distraught, isolated, and living in the past.” Shelia’ words of encouragement were manifesting faster than anticipated. Ron and her mom watched with gratitude and determination to continue to excel. “NOT YOUR AMERICA?” was no longer a question. Thanks to a rapidly-evolving all-inclusive society, and in spite of tardiness in social evolution of a small but vociferous minority,it had indeed become their America too.
