Sam the spider

Sam the spider is a beautifully illustrated story book with a very important life lesson: Sam shows young readers the importance of concentrating on what you are doing.

Sam is a young spider living in a shed. The other spiders around him make beautiful webs very quickly. Then they sit waiting for insects to get stuck in their webs so they can eat them. Sam tries to make his first web like the older spiders. He thinks it is easy, but when he looks at his web he can see that it is not right. He spins web after web but none of them come out right. One of the older spiders takes pity on Sam and watches him spin a web. He sees that Sam makes a good part of the web when he concentrates, but then not-so-good parts when his mind wanders. Sam tries again, paying close attention from beginning to end. And his new web is perfect!
