Cale the crab

Cale the crab is a beautifully illustrated story book with a very important life lesson: Cale shows young readers the importance of being reliable and keeping your word. The story and illustrations also teach readers about crabs and other marine life.

Cale lives in an old ship at the bottom of the ocean. He has many crab friends who help him whenever he needs them. But Cale is not always there for them – he often has an excuse when he does not keep his promises. He does not think it is a problem if he falls asleep or just forgets to meet them when they have plans, even though they sit waiting. The other crabs cannot rely on Cale. One day they make plans with Cale and don't go, but Cale does. He gets very angry and confronts his friends about wasting his time. They explain to Cale that he does this often and that he has not been a very good friend. Cale then understands that it is wrong to tell someone you will do something and not do it. And he never does it again. 

This book is part of the exciting Sea stories series, a set of little stories with big lessons. By relating to the fun characters in this series, children can learn valuable life skills.
