The proud old owl

The proud old owl is a beautifully illustrated story book with a very important life lesson: there is nothing wrong with accepting help from others when it is needed. The story is set in an African forest.

Spencer the owl lives in a big oak tree. He always helps the other animals with their problems and tells them the most amazing stories. One day the animals come to hear another tale, but Spencer does not come out of his hole when they call him.

Busi the squirrel runs up to see what is wrong. Spencer is very annoyed and tells Busi that this owl has no story to tell. The end!

Busi then notices a string wrapped around Spencer's foot and realizes that Spencer is stuck. Spencer is also too stubborn and too proud to ask for help. Busi gnaws through the string and frees Spencer, who is very grateful.

Old Spencer the owl learns that sometimes in life you will have problems you cannot solve by yourself. And that it is all right to tell your friends and ask them to help you.

This book is part of the exciting Animal Adventures series, a set of little stories with big lessons.
